Exam-Style Homework

Exam-Style Homework provided to students will consist of a list of exam-style questions which mimic the exact structure, difficulty and time pressures of the real Selective and O.C. entrance exams. Students will have the opportunity to do this homework either paper-based or online to best cater to their testing needs.

Online Learning Platform

Get 24/7 support with our online learning platform. On this portal, students are able to view full lesson recordings, access full worked solutions as well as ask any questions they may have each week. Parent's also have their own portal in which they are able to track exam marks and monitor homework.

Updated Materials

Our materials are updated yearly to reflect the newest changes as enacted by the NSW Education Standards Authority. The syllabus is continually reviewed by our NESA-Liaison Officers who understand the intricacies of the primary education systems and enact change with the most current information available.

Regular Testing

Students at NSPC undergo weekly testing in the form of a online weekly quiz. They also sit two major exams each term covering all topics learnt. This not only allows students to practice for the big exams like the Selective Placement Test, but also allows teachers to cater their approach to each student .

What is the HAST Exam?


The Higher Ability Selection Test (HAST) is an examination developed by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and is taken by students in years 7-10 who wish to gain entry into a select number of selective high schools.

The HAST test contains three different

levels:


1. Junior Secondary: Yr 7 students (Transfer into Yr 8)


2. Middle Secondary: Year 8 & 9 Students (Transfer into Yr 9 or 10)


3. Senior Secondary: Yr 10 & 11 Students (Transfer into Yr 11 or 12)

Students take the exam the year before they transfer into the school. For example, a Yr 7 student taking the exam in 2024 would gain entry into the school for Yr 8 in 2025. At NSPC, we cater for the Junior and Middle Secondary

Examinations.
